This specimen was lot 51332 in Stack's Bowers Hong Kong auction (Hong Kong, April 2021), where it sold for $2,520. The catalog description[1] noted, "STRAITS SETTLEMENTS. 5 Cents, 1879-H. Heaton Mint. Victoria. NGC MS-63. 8/∞ in date / STRΛITS variety. A few marks yet nevertheless lustrous, this minor features a medium gray tone and is quite SCARCE when encountered this alluring and appealing." The type was struck in 1871-1901 and many dates are common. Despite the ample mintage, this date is rare.

Specification: 1.36 g, 0.800 fine silver, 15 mm diameter.
