Stolberg in 1789, with Wernigerode to the northwest near Halberstadt

This specimen was lot 1390 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €900 (about US$1,163 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"STOLBERG-STOLBERG UND STOLBERG-ROSSLA, GRAFSCHAFTEN (DIE JÜNGERE STOLBERGER HAUPTLINIE AUS DER TEILUNG VON 1645) Friedrich Botho zu Stolberg-Rossla und Karl Ludwig zu Stolberg-Stolberg, 1761-1768. Konv.-Taler 1764, Stolberg. Dav-2808; . Sehr attraktives Exemplar mit feiner Patina, vorzüglich +. (counties of Stolberg-Stolberg and Stolberg-Rossla, joint issue, convention thaler of 1764, Stolberg mint. Very attractive, toned, extremely fine or better.)"

Tho not common, this is perhaps the most available thaler from this locale.
