This specimen was lot 32225 in Heritage sale 3041 (Chicago, August 2015), where it sold for $3,525. The catalog description[1] noted, "Stolberg-Wernigerode. Christian Ernst I gold Ducat 1768-EFR AU58 NGC, An attractive piece, and the first example of this type that we have ever offered. Always popular, and with an artistic depiction of a stag on the reverse. Some light scattered hairlines that just prevent this coin from reaching the Mint State level." Tho scarce, the other issues from this locale are even rarer.
