This specimen was lot 4068 in Goldberg sale 80 (Los Angeles, June 2014), where it sold for $4,446. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States - Stolberg. Taler, 1760-IBH. Christian Ernst, 1710-1771. To commemorate the 50th Year of Reign. Armored bust right. Reverse: Flaming altar. Brilliant mint luster with reflective fields and light peripheral toning. NGC graded MS-64." Another rare issue from an obscure locale.
