Stolberg 1764-C 2/3 thaler
This specimen was lot 151 in Schulman auction 389 (Amsterdam, December 2025), where it sold for €190 (about US$268 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "German States - 2/3 Thaler 1764, Silver, FRIEDRICH BOTHO 1739-1768, STOLBERG Stag left. Rev. crowned arms. Ex Cherry Tree Collection. PCGS Genuine AU Details. Cleaned, Very fine." The reverse legend, "XX.EINE FEINE MARCK NACH DEM CONV.FUSS," indicated that this coin is intended to weigh half a convention thaler altho it has a value of two-thirds thaler. It cites Frederick Botho and Charles Louis as counts, making this a joint issue like the similar thaler (Dav-2808). Another gulden of 1764, KM 277, has mintmaster initial T. Both are scarce.
