This specimen was lot 22742 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Stolberg-Stolberg. 24 Mariengroschen, 1720-IIG. Christof Friedrich and Jost Christian (1704-38). NGC AU-53. Handsomely preserved with an even, well centered strike, original tone that blankets the surfaces and no major surface marks." The SCWC lists numerous 2/3 thalers (KM 151, 165, 183, 197, 212, 211, 251, 275, 277, 296, 308, 330) as well as 24 mariengroschen (different denomination, same weight, see KM 117, 134, 195, 286, 294, 315, 269). None are common but are much more available than the rare thalers such as Dav-2802. This type is listed for 1707-38.

Recorded mintage: unknown but not rare.

Specification: 18.90 g, 0.833 fine silver.
