Stolberg in 1789, with Wernigerode to the northwest near Halberstadt

This specimen was lot 237 in Sincona sale 54 (Zürich, May 2019), where it sold for 2,500 CHF (about US$2,975 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Stolberg-Stolberg, Grafschaft, Johann Martin, 1638-1669. Dukat 1647, Rottleborde. Sehr selten. Attraktives sehr schönes Exemplar. (Germany, county of Stolberg-Stolberg, John Martin, 1638-69, ducat of 1647, Rottleborde mint. Very rare, Attractive very fine specimen.)"

This rare type was also struck in 1649.
