Sincona sale 102, lot 5497

This specimen was lot 5497 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 70 CHF (about US$106 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ. St. Gallen. Stadt und Kanton. Batzen 1725/4, St. Gallen. Mzz. Bäumchen. Die Jahreszahl im Stempel aus 1724 geändert. Sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of St. Gall, batzen of 1725, St. Gall mint, 1725/4 overdate, small tree mintmark. Very Fine.)"

This rather scarce type is listed in the SCWC as a four kreuzer for 1721-25. All the dates are priced the same.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 1.36 g, silver, 22 mm diameter, this specimen 1.80 g.
