St. Gall 1725 6 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 4495 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 130 CHF (about US$189 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ St. Gallen, Stadt und Kanton, 6 Kreuzer 1725, St. Gallen. Mzz. Bäumchen. Das K des fehlerhaften Worts KREU-ZEK auf Rückseite wurde im Stempel korrigiert, nachdem bereits viele Exemplare geprägt waren. Selten. Sehr schön. (Switzerland, St. Gall, six kreuzer of 1725, St. Gall mint. Mintmark: bush. The K of the incorrect word KREU-ZEK on the reverse was corrected in the die after many copies had already been minted. Rare, Very Fine.)"
This type was struck 1725-34 and 1739, normally with the denomination spelled correctly. The convention thaler was 120 kreuzer.
