Steve Album sale 55, lot 3018

This specimen was lot 3018 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $132. The catalog description^[1] noted, "SPAIN: Juan Carlos I, 1975-2014, AR 2000 pesetas, 2001, 500th Anniversary of the Segovia Mint, with original COA and box of issue, PCGS graded PF69 Deep Cameo." The Segovia mint was the first mint in Spain to convert to milled coinage in the late 1580's. It was closed in the 1860's. This NCLT was struck in Madrid for the rehabilitation of the Segovia mint. The peseta was retired in favor of the euro in 2001.
