This type was struck 1982-84 for Spain in substantial quantities. It marked the abandonment of the clumsy "date in stars" system used before. It was the final issue of this denomination in this module, first used in 1957. The subsequent issue (KM 852 of 1990) was only 5.6 g.

Recorded mintage: 27,000,000.

Specification: 12.35 g, copper-nickel, 30 mm diameter.
