Áureo y Calicó sale 347, lot 452

This specimen was lot 452 in Áureo y Calicó sale 347 (Barcelona, March 2020), where it sold for €500 (about US$660 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"1885*1886. Alfonso XII. MSM. 1 pesetas. Bella. Rara así. S/C-. (kingdom of Spain, Alfosno XII, one peseta of 1886, handsome, rare thus, about uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1881-86 and this is a common date. The actual date is in the tiny stars bracketing the date under the bust.

Specification: 5 g, 0.835 fine silver, this specimen 5,02 g.
