Aureo sale 261, lot 388

This specimen was lot 388 in Aureo y Calicó sale 261 (Barcelona, Spain, July 2014), where it sold for €110 (about US$176 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"1759. Fernando VI. Sevilla. JV. 2 reales. Patina. Buen ejemplar. MBC+. (Ferdinand VI, 1746-59, two reales of 1759, Seville mint. Toned, handsome example, choice very fine.)"

This type is listed for 1754 and 1757-59 and is noted as common. The Seville mint began striking two reales for Charles III the next year.

Specification: 6.77 g, 0.903 fine silver, 0.196 troy oz ASW.
