Spain 1733-S PA 2 reales
This specimen was lot 74629 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN. 2 Reales, 1733-S PA. Seville Mint. Phillip V. NGC AU-53. Notably well produced with an even strike presenting excellent detail for the issue. Gunmetal gray surfaces are brighter across the design elements, where light friction from wear has affected the shade of patina. Quite an eye appealing example that would be an excellent representative of the type in most any set." Shown is a two reales struck in 1733 at the Seville mint. Assayer PA is recorded for the years 1731-1735.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 6.77 g, 0.917 fine silver.
