The first specimen was lot 645 in Aureo y Calicó sale 246 (Barcelona, September 2012), where it sold for 50 € (about US$76 including buyer's fees). The catalog[1] noted,

"Felipe V (1700-1746). 1708. Segovia. Y. 2 reales. La cruz corta la leyenda. BC+. (Philip V, 1700-46, two reales of 1708, Seville mint. The cross divides the legend, fine plus.)"

This one-year type was struck at Seville but is not listed as rare. The next issue of two reales from this mint (KM 297) was in 1716-29.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 6.77 g, 0.903 fine silver, 196 troy oz ASW.
