This specimen was lot 75716 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "SOUTHERN RHODESIA]]. Shilling, 1946. London Mint. George VI. PCGS MS-64." Southern Rhodesia, named after diamond magnate Cecil Rhodes, was created a self-governing colony of Britain in 1923. Coinage commenced in 1932. The colony was federated with Northern Rhodesia in 1956 but is now Zimbabwe. This type was struck 1944 and 1946 only; the 1946 is scarcer despite having a higher mintage.

Recorded mintage: 1,700,000 plus proofs.

Specifications: 5.65 g, 0.500 fine silver, 23.6 mm diameter, reeded edge.
