This specimen was lot 1333 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "SOUTHERN RHODESIA: George VI, 1936-1952, AR 6 pence, 1944, a wonderful example, PCGS graded MS64." Southern Rhodesia, named after diamond magnate Cecil Rhodes, was created a self-governing colony of Britain in 1923. Coinage commenced in 1932. The colony was federated with Northern Rhodesia in 1956 but is now Zimbabwe. This type was struck 1944-46 only.
