This specimen was lot 75586 in Stack's Bowers May 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $976. The catalog description[1] noted, "SOUTHERN RHODESIA. 2 Shillings, 1936. London Mint. George V. PCGS MS-63." Southern Rhodesia, named after diamond magnate Cecil Rhodes, was created a self-governing colony of Britain in 1923. Coinage commenced in 1932. The colony was federated with Northern Rhodesia in 1956 but is now Zimbabwe. This type was struck 1932-36.
Recorded mintage: 683,000 plus proofs.
Specification: 11.31 g, 0.925 fine silver, 28.5 mm diameter, reeded edge.
