This specimen was lot 21481 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $493.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "SOUTH AFRICA. Penny, 1935. NGC MS-66 BN. Tied with two others for finest graded at NGC and PCGS in BN. Faint traces of orange remain along the legend edges, with pristine matte surfaces defining the superb gem characteristics of the coin. For collectors seeking out the very best, the piece offered here is sure to please." The South African pennies of George V run 1923-36 with this subtype issued 1931-36. It is common.
