Silesia-Liegnitz-Brieg 1608 ducat Fr-3145
This specimen was lot 2516 in Künker sale 439 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €14,000 (about US$19,260 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHLESIEN-LIEGNITZ-BRIEG, HERZOGTUM Johann Christian und Georg Rudolf, 1602-1621. Dukat 1608. GOLD. Hübsche Goldpatina, vorzüglich. (duchy of Silesia-Liegnitz-Brieg, John Christian and George Rudolf, 1602-21, ducat of 1608. Handsome gold patina, extremely fine.)"
Silesia is considered a German State even tho the province was then under Austrian rule and is now in Poland. The coinage ceased when the last of the local dukes died in 1675. This scarce type was struck 1606-09.
