This specimen was lot 2336 in Stephen Album sale 27 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2017), where it sold for $152.75. The catalog description^[1] noted, "SIKH EMPIRE: AR rupee, Anandgarh, VS1841. surface hairlines, bold strike, NGC graded EF details." This product of the Anandgarh mint is noted for VS1840-1849. Over a dozen other types are noted from this or neighboring mints. Other mints included Kashmir, Lahore, Amritsar, Multan, Nimak, Peshawar and Malkarian.
