This specimen was lot 3817 in Goldberg sale 70 (Los Angeles, September 2012), where it sold for $1,668. The catalog description[1] noted, "Sénégal. 100 Francs, 1968. On the 8th Anniversary of Independence. PCGS graded Proof 68 Deep Cameo." Senegal, which uses the CFA franc, has never issued coinage for circulation. However, this piece is from a proof set of ten, twenty-five, fifty and hundred gold francs issued in 1968.
Recorded mintage: unknown but few.
