Sincona sale 70, lot 3481

This specimen was lot 3481 in Sincona sale 70 (Zürich, May 2021), where it sold for 140 CHF (about US$186 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND | Schwyz. Batzen 1623, Schwyz. Fünfeckiges, leeres Wappen. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. Überdurchschnittliche Erhaltung. (Switzerland, canton of Schwyz, batzen of 1623, Schwyz mint. Very fine-extremely fine, Extraordinary condition.)"

This denomination was struck in several varieties, varying in the shape of the shield (see KM 17, 18).
