Schaffhausen (1658) ducat Fr-370
The first specimen was lot 3343 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 2,750 CHF (about US$3,989 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Schaffhausen, Dukat o. J. (1658), Schaffhausen. Selten. Gutes sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of Schaffhausen, undated ducat, circa 1658, Schaffhausen mint. Rare, Good Very Fine.)"
The second specimen was lot 4391 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 3,250 CHF (about US$4,714 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[2] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Schaffhausen, Dukat o. J. (1658), Schaffhausen. Nach links steigender Widder in ovaler, verzierter Kartusche mit zweifacher Einfassung des Schildes. Rv. Doppeladler unter kleiner Krone. Selten. Gutes sehr schön. Leichte Prägeschwächen. Exemplar der Auktion Münzen & Medaillen Deutschland 37, Weil am Rhein, Nov. 2012, Los 607. (Switzerland, canton of Schaffhausen, undated ducat, circa 1658, Schaffhausen mint. Obverse: An ibex leaping to the left within an oval cartouche with a double border. Reverse: a double-headed eagle beneath a small crown. Rare, Good Very Fine, Slightly weakly struck.)"
