This specimen was lot 20412 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it sold for $646.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Saxony. Taler, 1832-S. NGC MS-63. Older Bust facing right. Very difficult type to obtain in mint state. Sharply struck with light delicate toning and strong underlying." This type was issued 1829-36 along with a much scarcer mining thaler (Dav-869).

Recorded mintage: 979,000.

Specification: 28.06 g, 0.833 fine silver, .751 troy oz ASW, lettered edge.
