Saxony 1757-B 1/48 thaler
This specimen was lot 3810 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabruck, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €95 (about US$132 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Kriegsprägungen in Sachsen. 1/48 Taler 1757, B, Dresden. Vollwertige Prägung. Münzmeister Johann David Billert. R Vorzüglich. Erworben am 27.10.1985 von Udo Gans, Arnsberg. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, war issue in Saxony, 1/48 thaler of 1757, Dresden mint. Fully struck, rare, extremely fine.)"
This one year type was issued during the Seven Years' War is scarce. Saxony and her mint at Dresden was occupied by Prussian troops.
