Sincona sale 13, lot 2168

This specimen was lot 2168 in Sincona sale 13 (Zürich, October 2013), where it sold for 2,200 CHF (about US$2,846 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Sachsen, Kurfürstentum, Albertiner Taler 1702. Dresden Fast vorzüglich (Electorate of Saxony, thaler of 1702, Dresden mint, choice extremely fine)."

This type is noted for 1698-1705 but is rare. The years 1698-1700 are Dav-7656 and the years 1701-05 are Dav-2647.

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
