This specimen was lot 9346 in Ponterio sale 151 (Baltimore, November 2009), where it sold for $270.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Saxony. Taler, 1601. Christian II, Johann Georg and August (1591-1611). VERY FINE." The SCWC notes that this type was also struck in 1600 by the regent Friedrich Wilhelm von Saxe-Altenburg on behalf of the three young brothers shown on the obverse.
