This specimen was lot 22684 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $480. The catalog description^[1] noted, "GERMANY. Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach. Pfennig, 1858-A. NGC PROOF-66 RD. Bright and reflective with red toning in areas and design elements that remain fully sharp. Stunning preserved for its age." This type, struck 1855 and 1865, is noted as common.

Recorded mintage: 720,000.
