This specimen was lot 47157 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg. 1/24 Taler, 1765-LCK. Gotha Mint. Friedrich III. PCGS MS-65." This minor accompanied a one-sixth thaler (KM 315), one-third thaler (KM 318) and convention thaler (KM 319). It was struck 1763-68 and 1771. Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg was erected in 1680 and lasted until 1825, when the line fell extinct. The duchies were partitioned between Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld and Saxe-Hildburghausen.
