Künker sale 335, lot 4343

This specimen was lot 4343 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €280 (about US$367 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SACHSEN, SACHSEN-GOTHA, HERZOGTUM, AB 1672 SACHSEN, Friedrich II. 1691-1732. Pfennig 1719, Gotha. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Herrliche Patina, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Germany, duchy of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg, Frederick II, 1691-1732, pfennig of 1719, Gotha mint. Rare in this condition, beautiful patina, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1712-15, 1719, 1722. It is listed as silver but was probably billon.
