Künker sale 335, lot 4344

This specimen was lot 4344 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €700 (about US$916 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SACHSEN, SACHSEN-GOTHA, HERZOGTUM, AB 1672 SACHSEN, Friedrich III. 1732-1772. 8 Groschen 1755, Gotha, auf die 200-Jahrfeier des Religionsfriedens. Prachtexemplar. Herrliche Patina, fast Stempelglanz. (Germany, duchy of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg, Frederick III, 1732-72, eight groschen of 1755, Gotha mint, on the bicentennial of religious peace. Cabinet piece, beautiful patina, about uncirculated.)"

The SCWC lists this as a one-third thaler. It is scarce.
