This specimen was lot 4516 in Künker sale 441 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €6,000 (about US$8,254 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SACHSEN-GOTHA, HERZOGTUM, AB 1672 SACHSEN-GOTHA-ALTENBURG Friedrich II., 1691-1732. Dukat 1692, Gotha, unsigniert, von C. Wermuth, auf die am 15. Juni stattgefundene Huldigung in Gotha. Mit Laubrand; GOLD. Von größter Seltenheit. Attraktives Exemplar mit feiner Goldpatina, min. Randfehler, sehr schön-vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Westfälische Auktionsgesellschaft 62, Dortmund 2012, Nr. 1121. Nach Aktenlage wurden von diesem Dukaten 115 Stück geprägt, von denen der Herzog 45 Stück zur Weitergabe an fürstliche Personen erhielt. (duchy of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg, Frederick II, 1691-1732, ducat of 1692, Gotha mint, on the homage of Gotha received on June 15. Extremely rare, attractive example with fine gold patina, minor edge faults, very fine to extremely fine. According to official records, 115 pieces of this ducat were minted, of which the Duke received 45 for distribution to princely personages.)"

Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg was created in 1672 when the duke of Saxe-Gotha inherited the duchy of Saxe-Altenburg, whose ruler had died without heirs. The two duchies were officially merged in 1680 and the new state remained intact until 1825. The SCWC notes another rare ducat for 1692, KM 135/Fr-2970.
