This specimen was lot 45172 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. Savoy. 1/2 Lira, 1652. Torino Mint. Carlo Emanuelle II. NGC VF Details--Obverse Damage. A decently struck but worn coin with an old scratch on the chin of the obverse bust." This type is listed for 1649 and 1652 and is rare, like most Savoyard coins of the seventeenth century. The weight is based on the lira of Vittorio Amadeo I, which weighed 12.66-13.25 g. During the reign of Vittorio Amadeo II, the lira shrank drastically to 5.46-6.11 g.
