This specimen was lot 3220 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €850 (about US$1,098 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SAVOYEN Emanuele Filiberto, 1553-1580. Scudo d'oro del sole 1578, Bourg-en Bresse. GOLD. R Kl. Schrötlingsfehler, sehr schön. (duchy of Savoy, Emanuel Philibert, 1553-80, scudo d'oro of 1578, Bourg-en Bresse mint. Scarce, planchet flaws, very fine.)"
This is from a type struck intermittently 1561-80.
Recorded mintage: unknown but rare.
