Sarawak 1933-H 1/2 cent

Sarawak, now a part of Malaysia, was once ruled by a dynasty of white rajahs ending with Charles V. Brooke (ruled 1917-46). The region was devastated by Japanese occupation during World War Two, so the rajah abdicated in favor of direct British rule. This one-year type was struck for the rajah at the Heaton mint in England. It is fairly common.

Recorded mintage: 2,000,000.

Specification: bronze, plain edge.
