This specimen was lot 1578 in Steve Album sale 16 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2013), where it sold for $100.30. The catalog description[1] noted, "SARAWAK: Charles V. Brooke, rajah, 1917-1946, AR 50 cents, 1927-H, KM-19, surface hairlines, NGC graded EF details." Sarawak, a British colony on the northwest coast of Borneo, was ruled by a dynasty of white rajahs from 1841 to 1946. This type was issued 1927 only from Heaton. It is a reduced weight version of the fifty cents last issued in 1906 and is the last date of the denomination.
