This specimen was lot 956 in Stephen Album sale 30 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "SARAWAK: Charles V. Brooke, 1917-1946, 10 cents, 1934-H, only 18 examples known, PCGS graded Specimen-64, RR, ex King's Norton Mint Collection." Sarawak, now a part of Malaysia, was once ruled by a dynasty of white rajahs ending with Charles V. Brooke (ruled 1917-46). The region was devastated by Japanese occupation during World War Two, so the rajah abdicated in favor of direct British rule. This type was struck 1920, 1927 and 1934 at the Heaton mint in England, which struck all of Sarawak's coinage.
Recorded mintage: 2,000,000.
Specification: copper-nickel.
Catalog reference: KM-16.
