This specimen was issued by San Marino as part of the F.A.O. series. San Marino is in the Italian Apennines and is a protectorate of Italy but remains independent. It is one of the few European countries to issue coins for F.A.O. This type was struck in Rome. San Marino now uses the euro.

Recorded mintage: 875,000.

Specification: 8 g, nickel plated steel, 27.8 mm diameter.
