This specimen was lot 2520 in Stephen Album sale 47 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "SALZBURG: Ferdinand, Elector, 1803-1805, AR 20 kreuzer, 1805, initial M, Archbishopric issue, two-year type, EF-AU." 1805-06 This type, issued in 1805 after Salzburg was secularized and handed over to an Austrian archduke, is fairly common. Twenty kreuzer was one-sixth of a convention thaler. A thaler from 1806 is the last issue from this locale.
