This specimen was lot 40036 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $1,680. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. Salzburg. Taler, 1767. Sigmund III von Schrattenbach. PCGS MS-63 Gold Shield. Exceptionally choice and brilliant, this dazzling crown offers great, original luster, with some steely gray toning and hints of rose-gold near portions of the peripheries. Quite RARE when encountered this attractive and, not surprisingly, the only example of the type seen at PCGS. Ex: Kuenker 154 (6/2009) Lot # 1503."
Recorded mintage: unknown but somewhat scarce.
