Sincona sale 33, lot 3180

This specimen was lot 3180 in Sincona sale 33 (Zürich, October 2016), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"Salzburg, Erzbistum. Andreas Jakob von Dietrichstein, 1747-1753 Halbdukat 1749. Sehr selten. Gutes vorzüglich. (Germany, archbishopric of Salzburg, Andreas Jakob von Dietrichstein, 1747-1753, half ducat of 1749, Very rare, Good extremely fine.)"

This rather scarce type was the first half ducat struck since 1728.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 1.75 g, 0.986 fine gold, this specimen 1.74 g.
