Sincona sale 33, lot 3179

This specimen was lot 3179 in Sincona sale 33 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 2,000 CHF (about US$2,374 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Salzburg, Erzbistum. Andreas Jakob von Dietrichstein, 1747-1753 Dukat 1748. Selten. Gutes vorzüglich. Kl. Zainende. (Germany, archbishopric of Salzburg, Andreas Jakob von Dietrichstein, 1747-1753, ducat of 1748. Rare, Good extremely fine, Minor edge clip.)"

This type was issued 1748-51 alongside the more common Fr-860.

Recorded mintage: unknown but very scarce.

Specification: 3.5 g, 0.986 fine gold, this specimen 3.49 g.
