Sincona sale 76, lot 1543

This specimen was lot 1543 in Sincona sale 76 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 3,000 CHF (about US$3,642 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Salzburg, Erzbistum. Leopold Anton Eleutherius, 1727-1744. Taler 1728, Salzburg. Mit der Signatur B (Philipp Christoph Becker, Stempelschneider in Salzburg). Sehr selten. Vorzüglich. NGC AU55. (archbishopric of Salzburg, Leopold Anton Eleutherius, 1727-44, thaler of 1728, Salzburg mint, with engraver's initial "B". Very rare, Extremely fine.)"

This one year type seems to be the rarest thaler from this state in the eighteenth century.
