Künker sale 264, lot 3549

This specimen was lot 3549 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €900 (about US$1,163 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SALZBURG, ERZBISTUM Johann Ernst von Thun und Hohenstein, 1687-1709. Dukat 1705. GOLD. Kl. Randfehler, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, archbishopric of Salzburg, John Ernest of Thun und Hohenstein, 1687-1709, ducat of 1705, small rim bump, very fine to extremely fine.)"

This type is listed for 1687-1708 and is fairly common.

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.

Specification: 3.5 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW, 3.45 g.
