This specimen was lot 74514 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. Salzburg. 1/6 Taler Klippe, 1658. Guidobald von Thun und Hohenstein. NGC AU-55. An interesting Klippe type, bearing the ubiquitous archbishopric design opposite the marshalled Salzburg and Thun-Hohenstein arms. Lightly worn, with deeply toned surfaces." In the mid seventeenth century, one thaler was 72 kreuzer, making this coin nine kreuzer or three groschen. This klippe was struck 1654-58 and 1661-66 and is priced lower than the round issue (KM 181, struck 1656, 1658, 1661 and 1666). The archbishopric was secularized in 1803 and passed to Austria in 1814.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 4.68 g, silver.

Catalog reference: KM-160.
