This specimen was lot 76163 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), where it sold for $145. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. Salzburg. Taler, 1652. Salzburg Mint. Paris von Lodron. VERY FINE Details--Mount Removed, Cleaned." The Archbishopric of Salzburg was an ecclesiastical state between Bavaria and Austria and usually ruled by a Hapsburg client. This type was struck 1623-53 and is common. It was superseded by a virtually identical type (Dav-3505) issued 1654-68.
