Russia 1929 10 kopeks
This specimen was lot 72432 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2022), where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 10 Kopeks, 1929. Leningrad (St. Petersburg) Mint. PCGS MS-66. Population 3, none finer at PCGS. Offering some attractive tone on the obverse of a mostly peach color, with occasional other bursts of color, this Gem example provides exquisite details and charming luster to compliment the tone." This type was struck 1924-31 and all the dates are common except the proofs and the 1931. It and the accompanying 15, 20 and 50 kopeks were the last silver coins struck for circulation.
