This specimen was lot 3369 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), where it sold for $1,997.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 5 Ruble, 1910-EB. NGC MS-65. Lower mintage SCARCE date compared with its contemporary companions for type. Attractive example with no detracting marks and lustrous surfaces covered with a light amount of tone." This type was struck 1898-1911 in sufficient numbers as to be considered a bullion coin, tho this is a rare date. At the time of issue 8 French gold francs = 3 Russian gold rubles.
