This specimen was lot 1410 in Stephen Album sale 47 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $3,360. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIAN EMPIRE: Nicholas II, 1894-1917, AR 10 kopeks, 1897, Saint Petersburg Mint, assayer Apollon Grasgov, a superb deep cameo proof example! PCGS graded Proof 65 DCAM, ex Joe Sedillot Collection." This type is listed for 1867-1914. The nineteenth century dates are scarce in nice condition but the later dates are common with, of course, the exception of the proofs.
Recorded mintage: 3,150,000 plus proofs, a common date.
